Teresa Henselmann was born in Munich in 1996. After her bachelor's degree in musicology, she began studying composition for film and media with Prof. Gerd Baumann at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich in 2018. The same year, she won the film composition competition "SCORE Kompositionswettbewerb für Filmmusik" of the Rheingauer Film-Symphoniker. In 2021/2022 she received a composition scholarship from the Franz Grothe Foundation. In addition to working with directors, the 28-year-old composer also collaborates with modern dance choreographers, film production companies, photographers, voice-over artists, poets, instrumentalists and ensembles.
In her album, the 28-year-old composer, unconventionally and unimpressed by conventional song structures, deals with thoughts, memories, and stories that always carry a deep, social and self-reflective core. All voices, instruments and sounds of „Balloon“ were sung, played, recorded and produced by herself.
